There
is a monthly circle dance event that takes place on the
first Friday of every month at 8pm at Derwenlas Hall in
the village of Derwenlas just south of Machynlleth. Local
circle dance band “Dawns Tierra” play a wide
range of music from various locations. Local
circle dance teacher Steve Nutt is currently
choreographing dances to songs and melodies from the
“Chilean New Song” movement and some of these
will be presented at the Victor Jara festival next
